HULLABALOO HALL

About the Namesake

Appelt Hall is named after Leslie L. Appelt '41 and was constructed in 1989. Mr. Appelt served in WWII as an operations officer, and then became a real estate developer in Houston, Texas.

He is a trustee of Texas A&M's Development Foundation. In addition, 'Les' served as president of the Former Student Association in 1971 and on the board of trustees from 72-89. Philanthropy has been a main objective of Mr. Appelt, as he has given $3 million to the University, with a stipulation in his will for an additional $5 million.
