GETTING STARTED
We are delighted that you are considering living on campus at Texas A&M University. Whether you are a freshman, upperclassman, transfer student, married, student with children, veterans, or graduate student, on-campus housing has something to offer everyone.
NOTE: All incoming freshmen must be admitted to Texas A&M University to be eligible to apply for on-campus housing.
Please refer to the Eligibility page for specific information.
Application Fee
- A one-time, non-refundable online payment in the amount of $75 is required when you complete your first application to live on campus. The application fee is paid by credit/debit card or electronic check when you sign the contract.
Housing Charges
- Residence Halls & White Creek Apartments: Payment for housing will be added to the tuition and fees on your Howdy Portal student account. You can contact Student Business Services if you have questions about how to pay.
- Gardens Apartments: Rent and charges will be paid by credit/debit card via myHousing Portal.
These sample contracts are provided for your review prior to beginning your application. You will download a copy of your signed contract during the application process when you decide to live in the residence halls or apartments.
Students under 18 years of age will need a parent/guardian to electronically sign the contract as a proxy on the student’s behalf.
Note the date at the top of the Rates page to determine if the rates shown are for the current academic year or have been updated for the next academic year. Rents typically will change year to year but the current year’s rates will give you an estimate to help you budget.
Rates for the next academic year will be posted during the preceding Spring semester.
*Please be aware that rates are subject to change.
To begin, applications are based on the academic term, payment type (semester/monthly), and housing type (apartment or residence hall). To determine which application to complete, explore the many Housing Options you have when you live on campus, then complete an application in myHousing Portal.
Room assignments are based largely on priority date – which is defined as the date the housing application, including fee, is received – so apply to housing today!
More to come!
Housing Accommodations
- Students who want to request accommodations in their on campus living environment due to a disability need, must provide documentation and register with Disability Resources (DR) as part of the process for making an accommodations request for the residence halls and apartments managed by the Department of Residence Life (on-campus housing). Learn more about requesting housing accommodations.
Pets And Service / Assistance Animals
- The only animals allowed in residence halls or apartments are fish living in an aquarium (20-gallon maximum), service animals (as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act), assistance animals (as defined by the Fair Housing Act), and the official university mascot.
- Assistance animals (as defined by the Fair Housing Act) are only allowed in a student’s room or apartment after a request has been submitted and the Department of Residence Life has granted permission. Requests for assistance animals must be approved in writing before the student brings the animal into the hall or apartment. Requests for assistance animals should be directed to Disability Resources.
Rules are the policies that on-campus residents agree to abide by while living in the heart of the Aggie experience. Procedures are explanations of our department's process when we receive a request (i.e., room change, hall/apartment change, etc.).
