
Beat the Heat!
Welcome to campus, Aggies! As you begin your semester activities, please remember that the weather remains hot and humid. When doing anything outdoors, please remember to pace yourself, take precautions, and stay hydrated:
- Drink plenty of fluids even if you do not feel thirsty, and avoid caffeine and alcohol
- Apply sunscreen—SPF 30 or higher
- Take frequent breaks in the shade or the air-conditioned buildings/halls
Be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion:
- Cool, moist, pale or flushed skin
- Heavy sweating
- Headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness
Call 911 if there is vomiting, loss of consciousness, OR another health emergency
Stay Hydrated With Water Bottle Refilling Stations
Cold, filtered water is available at water bottle refilling stations across campus. Stations are located in most buildings on every floor.
Take a Break
Air-conditioned lounges
Make use of the lounges in each building and the common areas in both the Southside Commons and the first floor of Hullabaloo Hall on the Northside to sit and cool off in the air-conditioned spaces.
Get something to eat
