White Hall is named after Byrd E. White from Lancaster, Texas and was constructed in 1939. Mr. White served on the Texas A&M Board of Directors from 1922 to 1934. One of the most significant contributions Mr. White made as a Board member was achieving a more equitable division of the Permanent University Fund (PUF) for Texas A&M through the Texas Legislature.
