The 12th Can is a student-run food pantry located at Texas A&M to serve all students, faculty, and staff in need of assistance. We opened our doors in November 2013, and have managed to serve over 78,000 pounds of food.
The 12th Can is affiliated with Brazos Valley Food Bank as a program partner, and we reside under the Student Government Association. Our goal is to eliminate hunger at Texas A&M, bring awareness to food insecurity in college communities, and show others the power of the Aggie spirit.
How the pantry works: The 12th Can is a client choice food pantry, meaning that upon a client’s arrival, they are given a bag to fill with whatever food they see fit for themselves.
Requirements to use the pantry:
- Meet income requirements (found on the Using the Pantry tab on our website)
- Present a valid Texas A&M ID
Both new and returning clients will have to fill out short, informational intake forms available upon arrival to the pantry, then will be granted access to our pantry’s contents.
