Members of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets form the largest uniformed body of students outside of the Service Academies. The Department of Residence Life, through the Corps Area Housing Office, administers on-campus housing for the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University. Accommodations for approximately 2,600 students are currently available in 12 halls on the Corps of Cadets Quad. Interested joining the Corps? Housing & Assignment Process
By applying for Corps Housing, you are agreeing to be a member of the Corps of Cadets. As a reminder, there is no military obligation tied to one’s membership in the Corps. Housing assignments within a Corps Hall are designated by unit, class year, and gender. These assignments are determined by Corps Operations & Training as well as Corps Area Housing. Spence Hall is named in honor of David W. Spence, who in 1892, was the assistant professor of Civil Engineering. Spence served as the Dean of the School of Engineering from 1913 to 1917.

Kiest Hall is named in honor of E.J. Kiest, who was long-time editor and publisher of the Dallas Times – Herald. Kiest served on the Texas A&M Board of Directors from 1927 to 1941.

Fountain Hall is named in honor of Charles P. Fountain, who served as head of the Department of English from 1904 until his death in 1921.

Gainer Hall is named in honor of Charles S. Gainer, a Bryan attorney. Gainer served in the Texas Legislature from 1914 to 1918 and in the State Senate from 1928 to 1932. Throughout his terms, Gainer gave strong support to Texas A&M University.

Lacy Hall is named in honor of Walter G. Lacy , Sr., Class of 1893, from Waco. Lacy was President of Citizen’s National Bank of Waco and served on the Texas A&M Board of Directors from 1923 to 1941 and played an integral role in securing A&M’s portion of the Permanent University Fund (PUF).
