Apartment Availability

University Apartments has five fully-appointed rental apartments that are rented daily or monthly on a first come, first served basis and may be booked no earlier than 6 months in advance.

Eligibility

A guest is an individual affiliated with Texas A&M University, who is sponsored by a Department, Office, Program, Center or other entity of Texas A&M and has provided written verification of sponsorship and a valid University billing account number prior to occupancy.

Reservation Requests

Texas A&M Sponsor completes and submits the Guest Reservation Request online. Applications are only accepted from the Texas A&M Sponsor.

The Gardens Apartments staff will determine if the requested space is available for the desired dates and will notify the Texas A&M Sponsor.

For confirmed requests, the Gardens Apartments Staff will electronically send a rental agreement packet to both the Texas A&M Sponsor and the Guest.

The Texas A&M Sponsor and Guest must sign and return the required portions of the rental packet.

By completing and submitting the Guest Apartments Request, the Department Sponsor and/or Responsible Guest agree(s) to pay for all dates reserved via this form.

Amenities

Gardens Apartments Community Center with Open Access computer lab, wireless access, lounges, kitchen, meeting rooms and more. If a guest wants internet access in the apartment, the sponsoring department must request the access through Texas A&M University Division of Information Technology.

Rates

There are 2 bedroom/1 bath furnished apartments available for guests. Each apartment has a stove, refrigerator, living room, kitchen and bedroom furniture. Other amenities include kitchen dishes, pots and pans, a coffee maker, microwave, alarm clock, iron and ironing board, television, sheets, towels and a bedspread. Custodial will clean the bathrooms once a week.

Payment Information

The Sponsoring Department or the Guest is required to pay the rent and fees. If the Guest is to pay for the accommodations but does not, the TAMU Sponsoring Department will be billed for the stay. If the Guest is responsible for paying the rent, s/he will need to pay with a cashier’s check or money order, in the exact amount, in US dollars, made out to TAMU Fiscal Department. The guest will need to bring the payment to the Gardens Apartments Office during regular business hours on the first business day of the month after move-in and then on the first business day of all following months. The sponsoring department will be billed via Interdepartmental Transfer (IDT) for any rent and other charges not paid by the guest.

Additional Information

The Department of Residence Life Gardens Apartments provides daily or monthly rental of guest apartments as described for faculty, staff and students.

Guest apartments are fully furnished including kitchen appliances, dishes, TV, washer/dryer, bed linens, towels, dining and cookware. Bathrooms are cleaned once a week.

Reservations are done on a first-come-first-served basis with a completed guest apartment reservation request on file and based on apartment availability.

Guest Eligibility: A guest is an individual affiliated with Texas A&M University, who is sponsored by a Department, Office, Program, Center, or other entity of Texas A&M and has provided written verification of sponsorship prior to occupancy.

Payment: The guest or sponsoring department is responsible for rent. Who is responsible for paying the rent is determined at the time of the reservation. If the guest does not pay rent, the sponsoring department will be charged. Rent is due at time of occupancy and must be paid in full for the duration of the stay. If occupancy is extended beyond the originally agreed upon term, then the additional rental charges are due at the time the extension is granted. Money Orders or Cashier's Checks are to be made payable to: TAMU Fiscal Department and include the name of the guest and sponsoring department. Guest may pay rent in the Gardens Apartments Office. Sponsoring Departments will be billed through an IDT.

Damages found after check out will be billed to the sponsor.

Both the Texas A&M Sponsor and guest will be required to sign a guest contract and will be expected to follow all TAMU Guest Apartment Rules and Polices.

Identification: The sponsored guest will need to provide a picture ID (Driver’s License, Visa, passport, etc.). S/he will be required to sign a guest contract and attend a safety orientation with a staff member at check-in time.

Parking: Parking permits are required per [ls_content_block slug="url-transportation-services"] regulations. Guests or sponsors will need to make parking arrangements with Transportation Services prior to the arrival of the guest.

Cancellation Policy: The sponsor must notify the Gardens Apartments Office staff at least 72 hours in advance of the first day of the reservation to cancel the reservation. If less than 72 hours is provided, the sponsor will be billed the daily rate for one night. If the reservation is not used and not cancelled, the sponsoring department will be charged the daily rate for each night until the Gardens Apartments Office staff is notified that the guest is not coming.

Lost Key Cost: The guest or sponsoring department will be billed $150.00 for each lost key.
