CLEMENTS HALL
About the Namesake
Clements Hall is named after Rita Crocker Clements and was constructed in 1981. Ms. Clements was the wife of former Texas governor Bill Clements.
Ms. Clements was a rancher’s daughter who was extremely interested in attending Texas A&M University; however, in 1949, A&M didn’t admit women. As Texas’s First Lady, Ms. Clements was a model of attainment for young women.
