About the Community

2 members of the Global LLC holding a Howdy from Aggieland signThe Global LLC is a community comprised of a mix of domestic A&M students and international exchange students. Exchange students are students who study abroad at Texas A&M for one or two semesters and then return to their home institution. The Global LLC provides internationally-themed experiences to domestic students and provides incoming international exchange students the opportunity to learn more about the U.S. and Aggie cultures. The goal is to prepare all students for success in our increasingly globalized society.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the Global Living Learning Community, students must:

  1. Live on campus in the community building
  2. Have a minimum GPA of 2.5

  4. Commit to participating in community activities (generally about 2 per month)

Program Components

The community offers globally focused activities each month. Examples of programs include: holiday celebrations, sporting events, attending cultural events on campus together, professional development workshops, and movie nights.

Our intent in the Global LLC is to benefit students in the following ways:

  1. Make friends from around the world
  2. Build a global network
  3. Gain understanding of different cultures and ideas

Provides support for international students and encourages cross-cultural interactions for domestic students. Community support is fostered through formal and informal one-on-one and group activities.

Roommates and room assignments are a manual process determined by the Global LLC staff.

To foster a sense of community, Global LLC students will live in shared bedrooms (2 people per room) with shared bathrooms (2 rooms per bathroom). All efforts are made to pair students with roommates who are not from their home university or country. As much as possible, domestic students are paired with international students.
