POLICIES & HOW-TO INSTRUCTIONS
During the summer, Texas A&M University offers safe, convenient, and affordable on-campus housing for students at White Creek Apartments. Enjoy the convenience of on-campus living and easy access to amenities and academic resources our campus has to offer. The cost is $1,000/session or $2,000 for both sessions.
In order to live on campus, you must be enrolled at Texas A&M University – College Station.
Step 1: Apply for Housing
To live on campus for Summer Session I, Summer Session II, or Summer Sessions I & II, please complete the Summer Housing Application in myHousing Portal using your Net ID and password and follow the on-screen prompts. Don’t have a NetID and password yet? Visit the Howdy Portal and select Activate Your Account.
Step 2: Provide Your Preferences
Choose your preference:
- Current White Creek residents with a Spring 2020 assignment will stay in their same room.
- If you have a Fall 2020 assignment at White Creek we will do our best to place you in your selected room.
- All other Summer School residents will be assigned to one of the following apartment styles:
You can request a roommate under the Roommate Preference feature of the application. The Roommate Finder feature is not available for summer, but you can enter a specific student’s name, if you know someone you would like to live with. This is optional and roommates are not guaranteed, however we do our best to accommodate all requests.
Step 3: Receive Your Assignment
All Summer term housing is assigned by the Housing Assignments Office. You will be assigned based on your housing priority date which is the date your housing application was completed. You will receive your assignment via email before the Summer terms start. Summer Session I assignments will be done in early May and Summer Session II will be done in mid-June. As a reminder, for those students who are already living at White Creek Apartments for Spring 2020, our goal is not to move you to a different apartment for the Summer. However, due to COIVID-19 concerns, the Housing Assignments Office may have to move folks to accommodate social distancing.
Step 4: Complete Annual Housing Orientation
What does it mean to live on campus? Well, it’s a lot more than having a place to sleep. It’s your home. The place where you hang out with friends. Talk to your roommates. Study. Kick back. Relax. Sleep. Eat. It’s your space.
For that reason, we ask all students living in our on-campus communities to complete the Annual Housing Orientation. To do this, after you select a room and we have confirmed your reservation, the Annual Housing Orientation menu item will appear in myHousing Portal.
You will need to have completed this orientation in order to receive your key upon check-in. Check your Texas A&M email for specific instructions.
Schedule Move-In Appointment
To ensure everything is ready for your arrival, choose a day and time to move in at myHousing Portal after you complete the Annual Housing Orientation. Keep in mind that if you arrive before the published move-in dates you may be charged a daily fee for your early arrival.
Step 5: Move-In
We are excited that you will be living on-campus in College Station during the summer terms. Information about move-in, what to bring, what not to bring, rates, important dates, and parking maps are available on our Summer Move-In Information page. If you have any questions before you arrive on campus, please contact the appropriate office. We will see you in Aggieland!
Step 6: Payment
Payment for the summer will be posted to the student’s account by Student Business Services. Due to the uncertainties associated with COVID-19, students who move to White Creek for the summer and later decide that they must withdraw or return home, would be charged a daily rate for each night they lived at White Creek for the summer. Contract cancelation due to withdrawing or moving home must be done by July 15.
