It’s been a flurry of sustainable activities for us at Residence Life the past week. In addition to ongoing sustainable initiatives and outreach, we launched TAMU’s first U-Challenge and promoted sustainability this weekend at Aggieland Saturday!

After months of anticipation, we are excited to announce that we launched the U-Challenge on Wednesday, Feb 8. Students in this program have the opportunity to research the utility systems in their residence halls and make recommendations on ways to improve efficiency to panels of staff, faculty and administration. They are a sharp group of students and we are excited to see what they discover this semester and the opportunities this program will create for them!

For Aggieland Saturday, we hosted a sustainability scavenger hunt in the tour rooms with the Aggie Eco Reps. This showcased the many different ways students can incorporate sustainability into their daily lives. Take a tour of the rooms sometime and see if you can find the sustainable items. 🙂 Not only did we hand out prizes to those who found the sustainable items, but we had the chance to speak with prospective/future Aggies. The future looks bright for TAMU!
