Balcony Hall
Balcony style halls feature exterior hallways, two roommates in a room, a shared bath and two suitemates. Each of our balcony halls offers a rich tradition and history unique to the north side of campus. They also offer easy access to numerous academic buildings as well as multiple dining and recreation facilities.
Fowler Hall
Fowler Hall is named after Thomas W. Fowler ’43 and was constructed in 1964. Mr. Fowler entered Texas A&M in 1939 and received a B.S. degree.
He was killed on June 3, 1944 while leading a tank platoon in Rome, Italy. He was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for gallantry in action at Carano, Italy, on May 23, 1944.
Fowler Hall is one of the halls that makes up the ‘FHK’ Complex.
Keathley Hall
Keathley Hall is named after Sgt. George Dennis Keathley ’37 and was constructed in 1964.Sgt. Keathley attended Texas A&M until 1940. He entered the armed services in May of 1942. On Mount Altuzzo, Italy, in 1944, Sergeant Keathley continued to fight and to lead his company after he had been mortally wounded. For his heroic feats, he was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Keathley Hall is one of the halls that makes up the ‘FHK’ Complex.
Hughes Hall
Hughes Hall is named after Lt. Lloyd H. Hughes ’43 and was constructed in 1964. He piloted his heavy bomber to a precision minimum-altitude bombing of Axis refineries in Ploesti, Romania on August 1, 1943, even though gasoline was streaming from his aircraft.After flying through flames, he attempted a landing with one wing aflame. The aircraft crashed and was consumed.
Hughes Hall is one of the halls that makes up the ‘FHK’ Complex.
Schuhmacher Hall
Schuhmacher Hall is named after Henry C. Schuhmacher of Houston, Texas, and was constructed in 1964.
Mr. Schuhmacher is head of a wholesale grocery business bearing his name. He became a member of the Board of Director of Texas A&M University in 1925 and died in 2002.
Mr. Schuhmacher also served a member of the Board Committees on Auditing and Finances and as a member of the executive committee.
