About the Namesake

Wells Hall is named after Clyde H. Wells ’38 and was constructed in 1989. Mr. Wells died in 1987.

Mr. Wells was a rancher. He served as a member of the Texas A&M System Board of Regents for nearly 25 years including 12 years as Chair of the Board. In 1967, Mr. Wells was named “Man of the Year in Texas Agriculture” by the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association. He was active in land development and banking.
