The Graduate Hall Director position is a part-time nine-month live-on position. Primary responsibilities include the administrative, supervisory, advising, counseling, and conflict resolution duties for residence hall housing between 120 - 300 residents. This position supervises 4 - 5 Resident Advisors. The Graduate Hall Director works with students in developing an engaging living environment and assisting individual residents with their personal development. The Graduate Hall Director may be involved in the coordination and development of training workshops for residence hall and professional staff, planning and teaching the Department’s Resident Advisor class, serving on Residence Education program development teams, serving in a duty rotation, co-adjudicating university discipline cases and serving on other Departmental, Division, University committees, and other department responsibilities, as assigned.
Salary: Compensation ranges from $1,196 - $1,283 a month pending on budget approval and hall assignment. A professional development budget of $600 (available upon budget approval) and a furnished apartment with local telephone service, satellite TV and high speed Ethernet connections are also included in the compensation package. Additionally, under most circumstances, Graduate Hall Directors from out of state can have their out-of-state tuition waived and will pay the in-state rate.
