APPLICATION FEE: A $25.00 USD
non-refundable application fee must accompany all applications. Submit the completed application and application fee (cash, check or money order only) to the University Apartments Office. ASSIGNMENT PROCEDURES: The application fee must accompany the completed application or be received at the University Apartments Office within 7 calendar days of the date of application or the application will be made inactive. After the application fee is received, the application will be processed as follows:
- The application form is date stamped upon receipt and filed in the University Apartments Office as of that date. Because apartments are rented utilizing month to month leasing, processing of applications for each month is normally done the month prior to the requested move-in date (usually no earlier than 30 days in advance).
- When your application is reached in processing, if an apartment unit is available that matches your requests, you will be contacted with an apartment assignment offer:
- If you accept the assignment, you must send in your $300.00 USD security deposit and signed rental contract within 7 calendar days of notification to hold your apartment assignment.
- If you refuse the apartment assignment, your application form will be moved to another requested move-in month you desire and will be prioritized by application date. If you do not request your application form to be moved, it will be removed from the active applications and no longer considered.
- If your requested move-in date is coming up, or has just passed by, and you have not been contacted by the staff at the University Apartments office:
- You must contact the office at
979.845.2261 within 30 days and ask that your application be moved to a later desired month
- If you do not contact the University Apartments Office by the last working day of the month in which you requested an apartment your application will be removed from the active applications and no longer considered
MISCELLANEOUS TERMS: Student residents are required to sign a University Apartments Rental Contract and complete a required apartment orientation prior to occupancy. The rental term for the apartment is one month until terminated as outlined in the Rental Contract. All student residents must file with the University Apartments Office an "Intent to Vacate" form at least 30 calendar days in advance of the date the student resident plans to move out. Failure to submit an "Intent to Vacate" form or to provide a 30 calendar day notice will result in forfeiture of the entire security deposit.
- Rent is due and payable in advance and begins on the date the student resident occupies the apartment. Rent will be prorated for the first month if occupancy takes place after the first day of the month. Rent is paid monthly and must be paid within the first 5 business days of each month. Texas A&M University cannot extend credit to anyone.
- Natural gas, water, sewer, garbage collection, basic cable service and local telephone service are included in rent payments. Premium cable service and long distance telephone service are available at the student resident's additional expense.
