The University and the Department of Residence Life have established the following policies.
- No pets are allowed in the residence halls, either on a permanent or visitation basis. Guide dogs and fish are the only exceptions.
- Firearms, dangerous weapons, flammable liquids, or explosive devices are not allowed in the residence halls.
- The use of alcohol is NOT permitted in a student's room unless BOTH STUDENTS are 21 years of age.
- Appliances with heating elements are not allowed with the exception of coffee pots, hot pots, and hot-air popcorn poppers.
- Halogen torchieres are prohibited in all resident rooms.
- Only one microwave per room is allowed provided it does not exceed 700 watts.
- Refrigerators are permitted if they are no larger than 4.3 cubic feet, UL approved, and plug directly into a wall outlet.
- There will be 24-hour visitation for all residence halls during summer.
