McFadden Hall is named after Ella C. McFadden was constructed in 1979. Ms. McFadden was a woman who cared deeply about others. That concern was evident during her lifetime and since her death in 1965 has continued through the Ella C. McFadden Charitable Trust. She is known for her generosity and devotion to many worthy causes. During her lifetime, Ms. McFadden was involved in many community and church activities through her active membership in the Girls Service League and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Since 1947, the Ella C. McFadden Charitable Trust has provided funds for the general scholarship fund and for ten President's Endowed Scholars at Texas A&M University. These young people are but one of Ms. McFadden's legacies to Texas and the nation.
