Kiest Hall is named in honor of Edwin J. Kiest. Mr. Kiest was the long time owner of the Dallas Times Herald and a member of the A&M Board of Regents from 1927-1945. Throughout his years of service to A&M, Mr. Kiest liberally supported the institution and its undergraduates, having made it possible, through quiet benefactions, for many students to complete their college careers.
