Housing Changes for Fall
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

6. Why are you converting more halls to coed?

Texas A&M currently has a total of fifteen residence halls that are coeducational. Coeducational residence halls exist in a highly supervised environment and have been operating successfully on campus for more than seven years. A coed housing survey conducted during the residence hall spring Housing Decision 2007 indicated that a high percentage of on campus students surveyed (all of majority age) expressed a preference for increased coed housing options. TAMU research indicates that the coeducational living environment promotes improved scholarship and increased maturity among students.
