The Department of Residence Life has approved several residence hall housing changes beginning fall 2008. Please note the changes listed below:
New Changes Beginning Fall 2008:
- Anticipate at least a 3% increase in room rental rates for the 2008 - 2009 academic year.
- Clements
will become coed by room, instead of by floor. Coed by room, meaning two students of the same gender will live in a room together with a private bathroom. Males and females will live on the same floor. In addition, the new Cornerstone College of Liberal Arts Honors Program will be assigned to one floor in Clements.

- Schuhmacher
will be coed by suite, instead of by floor. Co-ed by suite means four students of the same gender will share a suite together with a connecting bathroom. Males and females will live on the same floor.
- Wells
will no longer have a substance free option.

Dunn
will receive new room furniture.
- Beginning with the fall semester of 2008, telephone service will no longer be automatically provided in the residence hall student rooms and Corps of Cadets student rooms. Residents who prefer local land line phone service may request installation of the service at a price of $45.00 per semester. | More information
Reminders
- All coed halls will automatically have 24 hours 7 day a week visitation (open visitation). Single gender halls will still be able to vote for open visitation at the beginning of the school year. The cohabitation policy, escort policy and overnight guest policy still apply.
- Moses
hall was converted to a incoming freshman coed residence hall Fall 2007 in support of the university goals of improving the freshman year experience at Texas A&M University. All bathrooms have locks that will be keyed to their floor. Therefore, females do not have key access to the male bathrooms and males do not have key access to the female bathrooms.
- Aggie Access Living and Learning Communities are housed in
Hobby
and
Schuhmacher halls.
The Engineering Living and Learning Community is housed in
Mosher.
The Leadership Living Learning Community (L3C) is housed in
Aston.
The Honors programs are housed in
Lechner
for freshmen (students selected by the Honors Office) and
Clements
for upper-class honor students.
