Build or Rent a Loft
Loft Approval

As a loft changes the appearance and functionality of the room significantly, all loft construction plans must be discussed and agreed upon by both roommtes.

Prior approval is required when a loft is being built. After hall check-in, you may obtain a Loft Request Form from theHall Director, your Area Office, or download a copy in Adobe PDF format below. The Loft Request Form must be signed by both roommates and submitted to the Hall Director of your hall. No construction can take place until you receive approval from your Hall Director. NOTE: Even if you download a copy of the Loft Request Form before halls open, you cannot submit the signed form to your Hall Director until after you and your roommate check-in.

Loft privileges may be suspended indefinitely by the Area Office if approval was not granted prior to construction or if violations of the Loft Construction Guidelines occur. Also look at Loft Terminology and Basic Construction Techniques for ideas on how to construct a loft.

Note: No prior approval is required if the loft is rented (see Loft Rental Information).
